A former Sony explains why they do not want game between platforms
Recently, and due to Fortnite, there has been controversy surrounding this issue.
John Smedley, a veteran of Sony and currently in Daybreak Games , wanted to give his opinion on all the controversy surrounding Fortnite that has recently originated around the shooter of Epic Games and the refusal of Sony to offer cross-platform game.

Recently we had an answer from Sony for all this controversy; however, this one was far more diplomatic than what John Smedley himself now offers.
"When I was at Sony, the reason that was internally supported for that decision was money, they do not like that someone who buys something on Xbox can use it on PlayStation, it's as simple as that, it's a stupid reason , but it's what's "said the executive on Twitter.
The Japanese company has been dismissing the possibility of facilitating crossed game or, at least, shared functions between consoles and PC from Rocket League: videogame that began to flirt with this possibility and that, of course, allowed between the other platforms.
