SEGA showed title gameplay and celebrated the 27 years of Sonic the Hedgehog


As scheduled, SEGA held a special event to celebrate the 27th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. The company showed new merchandise inspired by its popular character, but also revealed some news about Team Sonic Racing.

The new racing title will feature a considerable number of characters, among which were already confirmed by Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge and Omega. SEGA revealed this morning that Big the Cat, Amy Rose and a group of Chao will also join Team Sonic Racing.

During the anniversary celebration of its franchise, the company showed 13 minutes more of Team Sonic Racing's gameplay. While we do not see in action the new confirmed characters if we can give a brief look at one of the circuits.

SEGA promised that Team Sonic Racing will have more characters from the Sonic universe compared to Sonic & All Stars-Racing Transformed. So no doubt fans of the series are excited to see Big the Cat and Chao in this new installment of races.

Team Sonic Racing will include game options for a single player; however, it can also be enjoyed in various multiplayer modes. It is expected that SEGA will soon share another more detailed gameplay where we will see the new characters on the track.

Team Sonic Racing still has no confirmed release date but is expected to debut later this year for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
