NPD believes that Switch will be the best-selling console in the US in 2018
Red Dead Redemption 2 will surpass Black Ops 4 or Battlefield V in the software field by 2018.
Analysts of the NPD group , specialized in providing complete data on hardware and software in the United States , have made public their predictions for those who believe they will be the big winners of the rest of the year in the most important market of video games.
Mat Piscatella , the spokesman of the firm and one of the most well-known analysts of the North American panorama, has been in charge of presenting the careful report on the predictions of 2018 . According to him, Nintendo Switch will be the console that most sold in 2018 in that territory, and does so remembering that its sales pace is so amazing that, at the moment, only exceeds that of the original Wii .
The analyst, however, also has good words for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The first says it has had "strong growth this year," and that is going to have the best growth rates since Xbox 360 in 2010. As for PS4 , it also explains that it has exceeded its expectations and that, until this time of year, it has been the most sold hardware in the US. It will be overcome, as we say, by the Switch itself thanks to the fact that Nintendo "will be the video game console that sells the best in the fourth quarter, which will make it the best seller of the whole year".
It also has Piscatella time to talk about the software. According to him, the big winner at the economic level will be Red Dead Redemption 2 . Something not too surprising because it surrounds him with great expectation and that, for example, other Rockstar releases such as GTA V exceed 95 million games sold. Call of Duty will follow: Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V, in a second and third position of the most warlike.
